In DataDynamic Reporter once you have produced a table it is possible that the categories are not displayed in the desired order or there could be superfluous categories for your analysis and your presentation of the results.

Clicking on either the 'Ascending' or 'Descending' buttons, will open a pop-up window which allows you to set different parameters. In the 'Sort variable' drop-down menu you can select the variables you wish to order. You can choose the direction of your sort in ascending or descending order by selecting your preferences in the 'Direction' area and you can also select the criterion (statistics) in which you want data to be sorted (drop-down menu in the 'Sort on' area). There are a variety of statistics for which you can order your variable: you can find a complete list of those available in DataDynamic in the online manual.

It is also possible to order your variables conditionally to the distribution of another variable or even a specific category of another variable. In the 'Sort range select' drop-down menu you can choose the variable that affects your order. If you want to link the order to a specific category of the conditioning variable, you can do it by choosing via the second drop-down menu.

Finally clicking on 'Exclude' you can exclude certain categories from the sort order of the variable. This will open a pop-up window where you can select the categories you want to exclude from the sort order. In the 'Exclude to' area you can choose where to put these excluded categories in the table (at the top or at the bottom). The command 'Invert' reverses the order of the categories selected, whereas the command 'Clear' simply clears your last selection.
